The Vedas are also known as Shrutis, something that is heard, as sages had kept the knowledge of the Vedas alive orally, by memorizing them, without any written version. While Brahma is known to be the creator of the Vedas, it is believed that he also heard them from rishis of yore. The same has been passed on to us owing to the guru-shishya system, where the teacher helped the pupil memorize them through oral chanting.
When the oral tradition seemed to be fading away, this Vedic knowledge was put into writing. In the four Vedas, there are a total of twenty thousand three hundred seventy-nine moola mantras, which are condensed knowledge and need in-depth study.
Ved Path encapsulates pearls of wisdom from these Vedic mantras that help an individual attain peace of mind and wisdom.
