साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित नमिता गोखले अंग्रेज़ी की चर्चित लेखक हैं। ग्यारह कथाकृतियों समेत उनकी अब तक बीस पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं। हिमालय क्षेत्र से जुड़े विषयों और मिथकों पर वे लगातार लिखती रही हैं। ‘पारो : हर ड्रीम्स एंड पैशंस’ उनका पहला उपन्यास है जो 1984 में प्रकाशित हुआ था। 2021 में प्रकाशित ‘द ब्लाइंड मैट्रियार्क’ उनका नवीनतम उपन्यास है। इससे पहले, 2020 में उनका उपन्यास ‘जयपुर जर्नल्स’ छपा जिसकी पृष्ठभूमि जयपुर लिटरेचर फ़ेस्टिवल है। उसी साल उनका उपन्यास ‘बिट्रेड होप’ भी प्रकाशित हुआ जो बांग्ला के प्रसिद्ध कवि माइकेल मधुसूदन दत्त के जीवन पर आधारित है। वह जयपुर लिटरेचर फ़ेस्टिवल की सह-संस्थापक और निदेशक हैं। इस रूप में वह अनुवादों तथा विभिन्न भाषाओं और संस्कृतियों के बीच संवाद को लेकर निरन्तर सक्रिय हैं। उन्हें ‘थिंग्स टु लीव बिहाइंड’ उपन्यास के लिए 2021 में ‘साहित्य अकादेमी पुरस्कार’ प्रदान किया गया। इसी उपन्यास के लिए उन्हें ‘सुशीला देवी साहित्य सम्मान’ और वैली ऑफ़ वर्ड्स लिटरेचर फ़ेस्टिवल में ‘बेस्ट फ़िक्शन जूरी अवार्ड’ भी मिल चुका है। इस कृति को ‘अंतरराष्ट्रीय डब्लिन लिटरेरी अवार्ड’ की लॉन्ग लिस्ट में भी रखा गया था। उन्हें असम साहित्य सभा का प्रतिष्ठित ‘सेंटेनेरी नेशनल अवार्ड फ़ॉर लिटरेचर’ भी प्रदान किया जा चुका है।
