It gives us great pleasure to present this edition of “Introduction to Physical Education” for class XI. This book has been strictly revised according to the latest syllabus prescribed by the CBSE. The entire syllabus has been divided into two parts- Part A: Theory (70 marks) and Part B: Practical (30 marks). This book comprises the theory part, i.e. Part A. Topics like Changing Trends and Career in Physical Education, Olympism, Yoga ,Physical Education and Sports for CWSN, Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology in sports, Training and Doping in Sports, etc. have been included at appropriate places for making the text comprehensible. The Subject matter has been presented in a simple language to facilitate easy understanding of the students. Appropriate examples have been included to explain the principles of science psychology and its application in games and sports. Questions based on CBSE examination pattern-Case/Source based questions, assertion-reasoning type questions, matching, flow charts, picture-based questions, have been included in this book. Short and Long Answer Questions have been given at the end of each chapter to enable the students to prepare for the examination.
