Plato

Plato was one of the most influential philosophers in Western thought and a foundational figure in the history of philosophy. He was the student of Socrates and the teacher of Aristotle, forming a philosophical lineage that shaped Western intellectual traditions for centuries. Plato founded the Academy in Athens, one of the first institutions of higher learning in the Western world, and wrote extensively on a wide range of subjects including metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political theory, and education.
