About the Author Marta Franceschini was born in Italy in 1959. Attracted by the East since childhood, she got a Masters degree in Oriental History from Bologna University. In 1986 she came to India for the first time with a scholarship to study the Urdu language, and since then she has developed a real passion for this country. She considers Delhi her spiritual Mother. In Italy, she has published five novels and many short stories; she has written several text for documentaries and for theatre pieces. She has recently obtained a MPhil degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sufi mysticism.
