If you were a student of economics you would tell me that the seven most important aspects of market capitalism are pricing, limited liability, shareholder value, the agency theory, utility, the invisible hand, and finally, competition. However, Eve Poole, in this book, shows you how these seven things are what worked for capitalism in the past, not today. She goes on to show you how these seven ideas, if used today, can lead you to get stuck. The system of capitalism is mostly handled by the government and economists. She shows readers how the market is shaped by the rich, by their many votes. What she shows her readers is that things can be changed by us and we do not need the help of experts in this. The chapters in this book reveal how great changes take place through shifting behaviors of employers, employees, consumers and investors. Great changes take place as the financial votes that are cast in the market get adjusted.
