Research Methodology: A Step-By-Step Guide For Beginners 3rd Edition covers everything that goes into a research project. It helps students every step of the way, from the preliminaries they need to take care of, before they start a research project to finally analyzing the collected data and writing the report.
The author covers the basic concepts of research and preparing for a research project. He first shows the students how to formulate a research proposal once they have decided on the research topic. He then shows how they should prepare for collecting relevant data for the research.
The author splits down the research process into eight steps. First is the formulation of a research problem, then coming up with a research design. Third, choosing a method of data collection for the research. Next, the students have to decide on the sample for data collection.
Once they have decided the instrument they are going to use for data collection and have selected the sample, they have to write the research proposal. After that, they have to methodically collect the data. The next step is to analyze and display the collected data. The final step is the actual writing of the research report.
Besides these steps, the book also discusses how to carry out a literature review, and also goes into the ethical considerations while carrying out any research project.
This edition of Research Methodology: A Step-By-Step Guide For Beginners 3rd Edition has an extended coverage of qualitative research methods. This builds on the previous edition's strength in covering quantitative methods.
Using many illustrative examples, the book breaks down the research process into a simple step-by-step process that would be easy to understand even for those students who are new to research and explains the methodologies used in carrying out a systematic research project.
