This book explores the impact of hydropower dams on subtle, physio-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. It is shown that river waters carry spiritual charges and that these are damaged by hydropower projects. It is shown that even Run-of-River dams bring changes in subtle physio-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. Finally, it presents an alternative method of generating hydropower so that the qualities of water of the Ganga can be conserved.About the AuthorAfter graduating in Science, Bharat Jhunjhunwala acquired his doctoral degree in economics from the University of Florida at the age of 23.
