Kahlil Gibran, a renowned Lebanese-American writer, poet, visual artist, and philosopher, is celebrated as the author of The Prophet, published in 1923 in the United States. Gibran emigrated to the United States with his mother and siblings, settling in Boston’s vibrant Syrian and Lebanese community. There, he learned English and pursued art studies while his mother supported the family by working as a seamstress and selling linens.
